1.44 Lakh Micro Food Units Supported under PMFME to Boost India’s Food Processing Sector

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has supported the establishment of 1.44 lakh micro food processing units under the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, along with other initiatives like PMKSY and PLISFPI. These schemes provide financial and technical assistance to boost the MSME sector in food processing across India, including significant support in Bihar. As of June 2025, over 116,000 beneficiaries have been trained under these programs, which aim to enhance the infrastructure and capacity of the food processing industry.
