The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) held an inaugural ceremony on November 7, 2025, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram'. The event featured mass singing and a live address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'Vande Mataram', composed by Bankimchandra Chatterjee, was written on November 7, 1875, and has played a significant role in India's freedom struggle, symbolizing patriotism and unity.
