Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Boosts Post-Harvest Infrastructure with Subsidized Loans

The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), a Central Sector Scheme, aims to enhance post-harvest management infrastructure and promote community farming assets by providing medium to long-term debt financing. Launched in July 2020 and running until January 2026, the AIF has sanctioned ₹80,224.15 crore for over 150,000 projects, fueling an investment of ₹1,27,508 crore. The scheme offers interest-subvented loans and credit guarantees to strengthen agri-logistics and reduce post-harvest losses. Additionally, elements of Pradhan Mantri – KisanUrja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) have been integrated to promote solar-powered agricultural solutions.
