Akashvani Expands National Radio Outreach with 591 Stations
Akashvani, the public broadcasting arm of India, currently operates 591 broadcasting stations nationwide. Out of these, 230 have in-house studio facilities, while 361 relay content from other stations to expand reach. Recently, a new 100W FM Relay Station at Bhilwara was added, enhancing the Vividh Bharati Service. The relay network maximizes resource utilization and ensures broad access to quality public broadcasting, as reported by Dr. L. Murugan, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, in the Lok Sabha on December 17, 2025.
