Amrit Bharat Station Scheme Accelerates with 1,337 Stations Set for Redevelopment

The Ministry of Railways is rapidly progressing with the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, aiming to redevelop 1,337 railway stations across India. The scheme involves modernizing station facilities, enhancing passenger amenities, and integrating multimodal transport solutions. This large-scale development is occurring without halting rail traffic, showcasing India's unique approach to maintaining operation during reconstruction. A budget of ₹12,118 crore has been allocated for 2025-26, with plans for 15 stations to be developed under a Public-Private Partnership model. As of now, 155 stations have completed upgrades, contributing to the world's largest station redevelopment program.
