Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) Results for 2023-24

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has released the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) results for the financial year 2023-24, indicating a Gross Value Added (GVA) growth of 11.89% and an industrial output increase of 5.80%. Employment in the sector rose by 5.92%, adding over 57 lakh jobs in the last decade. The top five industries contributing to GVA are Basic Metals, Motor Vehicles, Chemicals, Food Products, and Pharmaceuticals, with Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka leading in employment.
