APEDA Advances Basmati Rice Ecosystem with New Initiatives

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has taken a major step in enhancing the Basmati rice ecosystem in India by entering into a 70-year lease agreement for the development of a Basmati & Organic Training Centre-cum-Demo Farm in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. This will be India's first facility dedicated to both conventional and organic Basmati farming. Coinciding with this development, India’s first AI-based Basmati Paddy Survey project was launched, aiming to improve crop assessment and export planning.
