Appointment of Shri T. Rabi Sankar to the 16th Finance Commission
Shri T. Rabi Sankar, Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, has been appointed as a part-time Member of the 16th Finance Commission following the resignation of Shri Ajay Narayan Jha. His term will last until the Commission's report is submitted or until October 31, 2025. The XVIFC, chaired by Dr. Arvind Panagariya, is tasked with providing recommendations for the financial award period starting April 1, 2026.
