Apprenticeship Reforms and NAPS-2 Update

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has reported on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS-2), which aims to enhance apprenticeship training across India. As of June 2025, there are 8,52,376 apprentices enrolled, including 1,95,680 women. The government provides stipend support of up to ₹1,500 per month, and recent reforms include a proposed stipend hike and expanded training opportunities in emerging sectors. The initiative promotes inclusivity and aims to bridge the skill gap in the workforce.
