Approval of 14,599 Anganwadi cum Crèches by Ministry of Women and Child Development

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has approved 14,599 Anganwadi cum Crèches (AWCCs) as part of its initiative to enhance childcare services for working mothers. This follows the introduction of the Palna scheme under the Mission Shakti umbrella, aimed at providing quality crèche facilities. The AWCCs are designed to ensure safe and secure environments for children aged 6 months to 6 years, with a funding ratio of 60:40 between the Centre and State Governments, except for certain regions. As of July 2025, 2,448 AWCCs are operational across 23 States and UTs.
