Approval of M-CADWM Scheme to Enhance Water Management and Farmer Benefits
The Cabinet has approved the Modernization of Command Area Development and Water Management (M-CADWM) scheme, aiming to cover 75,000 hectares with underground piped irrigation. With a total outlay of ₹1600 crore, the scheme seeks to enhance crop production, diversify farming, and empower farmers through Water User Societies (WUS). Approximately 80,000 farmers are expected to benefit directly, with additional economic growth anticipated in rural areas.
