AQI Improvement in Delhi Leads to Revocation of GRAP Stage-III Restrictions

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has noted a steady decrease in Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI), prompting the revocation of Stage-III restrictions of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across the National Capital Region (NCR). The AQI dropped from over 400 in early November to 327 on 26th November. Stage-III, which includes harsh measures for pollution control, was lifted due to its disruptive impact on the public and stakeholders. However, measures under Stages I and II remain in force to prevent further AQI deterioration. The decision comes in the light of forecasts indicating the AQI will remain in the 'Very Poor' category despite improvements. Authorities are advised to intensify measures to avoid reinstating Stage-III.
