Scientists have employed Artificial Intelligence (AI) to digitize and analyze 100 years of hand-drawn solar records from the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, dating from 1916 to 2007. This study led by Dibya Kirti Mishra at the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences utilizes machine learning techniques to transform historical Sun observations into useful data, offering new insights into solar cyclic activity and its impact on Earth.
