The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the continuation and extension of the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) until FY 2030-31. This move includes government support for promotional and developmental activities, and gap funding to maintain the viability of the scheme. The APY aims to provide old-age income security for unorganised sector workers in India. Launched in 2015, the scheme currently supports over 8.66 crore subscribers with guaranteed pensions.
