Automation of Crop Loss Assessment through CROPIC

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has introduced CROPIC, a digital application under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), designed to collect geotagged photographs of crops to assess their health and damage. This initiative aims to enhance crop insurance management and disaster response through real-time data collection. Additionally, a Krishi Rakshak Portal and Helpline has been established for farmers to report grievances, with fixed timelines for resolution. However, there are currently no plans to create a public dashboard for CROPIC data.
