AYUSH Initiative Boosts Tribal Livelihoods through Medicinal Plants
The National Medicinal Plants Board under the Ministry of AYUSH is running a Central Sector Scheme aimed at the conservation, development, and sustainable management of medicinal plants. The scheme supports projects across India, including Odisha's tribal areas, helping in-situ and ex-situ conservation efforts, fostering livelihood through collaborations with local communities, and promoting market access via the "e-CHARAK" app. Such initiatives not only enhance the income of tribal and other farmers but also support biodiversity through medicinal plant cultivation.
