Bar Council of India Ends Recognition of Evening LL.B. Degrees

The Bar Council of India has confirmed that since the academic year 2000-2001, it no longer recognizes evening LL.B. degree programs. The BCI insists that a Bachelor of Laws degree should be pursued as a full-time, regular course, following prescribed daily classroom hours. This decision, as outlined in the BCI's Rules of Legal Education, 2008, affects no retrospective enrollments for evening law graduates post-2000.
