Bima Sakhi Scheme Enrolls Over 2 Lakh Women
The Bima Sakhi Scheme, launched by the Government of India on December 9, 2024, has enrolled over 205,000 women as 'Bima Sakhis'. The scheme aims to empower women by providing them with career opportunities in the life insurance sector. LIC has allocated a budget of Rs 520 crore for the current financial year, with stipends paid to Bima Sakhis ranging from Rs 7,000 to Rs 5,000 over three years. After five years, eligible graduates can participate in the recruitment for Apprentice Development Officers.
