Boosting Tourism and Tribal Development under PMGSY-IV

The Ministry of Rural Development is enhancing road connectivity for tribal areas through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-IV, launched on September 11, 2024. This initiative aims to connect 25,000 unconnected habitations, prioritizing those with significant Scheduled Tribe populations. As of July 28, 2025, 62 road projects covering 296.301 km have been approved in Jammu & Kashmir, promoting rural tourism and economic opportunities. Improved connectivity is expected to enhance access to markets, healthcare, education, and government services, ultimately boosting rural incomes and women's participation in various sectors.
