India has achieved a record food grain production of 353.96 million tonnes in 2024-25, supported by robust storage infrastructure including 917.83 LMT capacity managed by the Food Corporation of India and state agencies. The expansion of cold storage facilities and decentralized storage through Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) is enhancing food security and farmer income. Government initiatives like the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana are pivotal in strengthening storage and processing capabilities.
