Cabinet Approves 78-Day Productivity Linked Bonus for Railway Employees

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) of 78 days for railway employees, amounting to Rs.1865.68 crore for 10,91,146 staff members. This bonus, equivalent to 78 days' wages, is intended to motivate employees and is distributed annually before the Durga Puja/Dussehra holidays. The maximum bonus per employee is Rs.17,951, benefiting various categories of railway staff. The railway's performance in 2024-25 was notable, with record cargo and passenger numbers.
