Cabinet Approves Doubling of Bhagalpur-Dumka-Rampurhat Railway Line
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the doubling of the Bhagalpur-Dumka-Rampurhat railway line section (177 km) across Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal at a cost of Rs. 3,169 crore. This project aims to enhance railway capacity, improve mobility, and support economic development in the region, providing better connectivity to key destinations and boosting freight traffic. It aligns with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan and is expected to benefit approximately 441 villages and 28.72 lakh people.
