Cabinet Approves Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme

The Union Cabinet has approved the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme aimed at enhancing job creation, employability, and social security across all sectors, particularly in manufacturing. The scheme will provide first-time employees with one month's wage (up to Rs 15,000) and offer incentives to employers for creating additional jobs. With a budget of Rs 99,446 Crore, the ELI Scheme aims to generate over 3.5 Crore jobs in two years, benefiting around 1.92 Crore first-time workers. The scheme will be implemented from August 2025 to July 2027.
