Cabinet Approves Expansion of Srinagar International Airport

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved a ₹1,677 crore expansion for Srinagar International Airport. Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, announced that the project, carried out by the Airports Authority of India, will greatly enhance the airport's capacity from 2.5 million to 10 million passengers annually and boost regional connectivity. This expansion is expected to bolster Jammu & Kashmir's economy, increasing tourism's contribution to GDP and generating significant employment opportunities. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, this project symbolizes the region's economic advancement post abolition of Article 370.
