Cabinet Approves Export Promotion Mission with Rs.25,060 Crore Outlay
The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Export Promotion Mission (EPM) to enhance India's export competitiveness, particularly for MSMEs and first-time exporters. With an outlay of Rs.25,060 crore from FY 2025–26 to FY 2030–31, EPM aims to consolidate fragmented schemes into a single adaptive framework. It includes two sub-schemes: NIRYAT PROTSAHAN for trade finance access and NIRYAT DISHA for market readiness. The initiative addresses challenges like limited trade finance and high compliance costs, supporting sectors affected by global tariff escalations and aiming to boost employment and exports.
