Cabinet Approves Increased Investment in HPCL Rajasthan Refinery

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a significant increase in the project cost for HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited from Rs.43,129 Crore to Rs.79,459 Crore, with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited making an additional equity investment of Rs.8,962 Crore. This expansion is aimed at boosting petrochemical production capacities and enhancing energy independence. It is expected to generate substantial economic benefits, including employment for approximately 25,000 people, and promote industrial growth in Rajasthan.
