Cabinet Approves Major Rail Projects to Enhance Connectivity
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved two significant multitracking projects for Indian Railways, covering seven districts in Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. With a total estimated cost of Rs 6,405 crore, these projects will increase the railway network by approximately 318 Kms, improve travel convenience, reduce logistics costs, and lower CO2 emissions. The initiatives are expected to generate direct employment for about 108 lakh human-days during construction and enhance connectivity to around 1,408 villages, supporting sustainable rail operations and contributing to the PM's vision of a New India.
