Cabinet Approves Major Rail Projects to Enhance Connectivity

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved four multitracking projects across 13 districts in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand, increasing the Indian Railways network by 574 Kms. The projects, costing approximately Rs 11,169 crore, aim to improve operational efficiency, create 229 lakh human-days of employment, and enhance connectivity for over 2,300 villages, while also contributing to environmental goals by reducing CO2 emissions and oil imports.
