Cabinet Approves Major Rail Projects to Enhance Connectivity

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved four multitracking projects by the Ministry of Railways, covering 13 districts across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Jharkhand. The projects, costing approximately Rs 11,169 crore, will increase the railway network by 574 Kms and create 229 lakh human-days of employment during construction. These initiatives aim to improve operational efficiency, enhance mobility, and support the Prime Minister's vision for a self-reliant India, while also addressing environmental goals by reducing CO2 emissions and oil imports.
