Cabinet Approves Major Rail Projects to Enhance Connectivity

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved four multitracking projects across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh, increasing the Indian Railways network by 894 Kms at an estimated cost of Rs 24,634 crore. The projects aim to enhance connectivity to 3,633 villages, improve operational efficiency, and support environmental goals by reducing CO2 emissions and oil imports. Completion is expected by 2030-31.
