Cabinet Approves Major Rail Projects to Enhance Connectivity in India
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved four multitracking projects by the Ministry of Railways, covering 18 districts across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh. The projects, costing Rs 24,634 crore, aim to increase the railway network by 894 Kms and enhance connectivity to approximately 3,633 villages, benefiting a population of about 85.84 lakh. The initiatives align with the Prime Minister's vision for a self-reliant India and are expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce congestion, and support environmental goals by lowering CO2 emissions.
