Cabinet Approves MSP for Copra for 2026

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for copra for the 2026 season. The MSP for milling copra is set at Rs.12,027 per quintal, while the ball copra is priced at Rs.12,500 per quintal. This marks a significant increase over the previous season, with price hikes of Rs.445 and Rs.400 per quintal, respectively. The higher MSP aims to provide better returns to coconut farmers and encourage expanded production. NAFED and NCCF will continue as central nodal agencies for copra procurement.
