Cabinet Approves MSP for Kharif Crops 2025-26

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved an increase in Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for 14 Kharif crops for the 2025-26 marketing season. The highest increase is for nigerseed (Rs. 820 per quintal), followed by Ragi (Rs. 596), Cotton (Rs. 589), and Sesamum (Rs. 579). The MSP adjustments aim to ensure fair prices for farmers, with margins over production costs estimated at 50% or higher for most crops.
