Cabinet Approves MSP Increase for Kharif Crops for 2026-27

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has sanctioned an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for 14 Kharif crops for the 2026-27 marketing season. This initiative aims to provide farmers with more profitable prices for their yields. The most significant MSP hikes have been for Sunflower Seeds, Cotton, Nigerseed, and Sesamum. The government continues to support farmers by ensuring the MSP is at least 1.5 times the cost of production, with particular emphasis on promoting pulses and oilseeds cultivation.
