Cabinet Approves National Highway-167 Widening in Telangana
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the widening of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar in Telangana to a 4-lane highway. Part of the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, the 80.01 km project, costing Rs.3175.08 crore, aims to improve connectivity, reduce logistics costs, and boost the region's socio-economic growth under a Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). Enhancements will alleviate traffic congestion and structure a more seamless freight movement across multiple significant economic and social nodes, thereby generating millions of employment opportunities.
