Cabinet Approves RDI Scheme to Boost Research and Innovation

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme with a budget of Rs. One lakh Crore. This initiative aims to enhance India's research ecosystem by providing long-term financing to the private sector, encouraging innovation in strategic and sunrise sectors. The scheme will support transformative projects, technology acquisition, and the establishment of a Deep-Tech Fund of Funds, fostering self-reliance and global competitiveness as India aims for Viksit Bharat by 2047.
