Cabinet Approves Revised Jharia Master Plan for Rehabilitation

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the Revised Jharia Master Plan to address fire, land subsidence, and the rehabilitation of affected families in the Jharia Coalfield. The plan has a financial outlay of Rs. 5,940.47 crore and focuses on sustainable livelihood generation, skill development, and infrastructure development for resettled families. A Livelihood Grant and credit support will be provided to both Legal and Non-Legal Title Holder families, along with the establishment of a dedicated rehabilitation fund.
