Cabinet Approves Rs.2000 Crore Grant for NCDC
The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a Central Sector Scheme granting Rs.2000 crore to the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) over four years (2025-29). This funding will enable NCDC to raise Rs.20,000 crore from the open market, facilitating loans to cooperatives for new projects and working capital. Approximately 2.9 crore members from various cooperative sectors, including dairy and textiles, are expected to benefit, enhancing economic conditions and employment opportunities in rural areas.
