Cabinet Approves Rs.6520 Crore for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a total outlay of Rs.6520 crore for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) during the 15th Finance Commission Cycle (2021-22 to 2025-26). This includes an additional Rs.1920 crore, with Rs.1000 crore allocated for establishing 50 Multi Product Food Irradiation Units and 100 NABL-accredited Food Testing Labs. The initiative aims to enhance food safety and quality, creating a preservation capacity of 20 to 30 Lakh Metric Tonnes per annum.
