Cabinet Approves Semiconductor Manufacturing Projects in India

The Union Cabinet has approved four new semiconductor manufacturing projects in Odisha, Punjab, and Andhra Pradesh under the India Semiconductor Mission, with a total investment of Rs. 4,600 crore. These projects are expected to create over 2,000 jobs and enhance India's semiconductor ecosystem, contributing to the country's self-reliance in electronics manufacturing. The initiatives include the establishment of the first commercial compound semiconductor fab and advanced packaging units, addressing the growing demand in various sectors such as automotive and telecommunications.
