This decision ensures a 61.8% return over the average production cost, aligning with the government's previous commitments to support farmers. The price increase reflects the government's continued efforts to bolster agricultural support, with a notable rise from Rs. 2,400 per quintal in 2014-15 to Rs. 5,925 in 2026-27.
