CAQM Enforces Action Plans to Combat Wheat Stubble Burning in 2026

The Commission for Air Quality Management has issued mandatory directives for Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to implement State Action Plans for the elimination of wheat stubble burning in 2026. The directive aims at reducing air pollution through structured measures during the wheat harvesting season, supported by technological monitoring and reporting by ISRO/IARI. Complementary initiatives are also encouraged from Delhi and Rajasthan.
