CBDT Unveils Second NUDGE Initiative to Enhance Foreign Asset Compliance

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has announced the launch of its second NUDGE initiative aimed at strengthening voluntary compliance regarding foreign assets. Starting November 28, 2025, targeted taxpayers will receive SMSs and emails advising them to review and revise their returns by December 31, 2025, to avoid penalties. This initiative follows the success of the first NUDGE campaign and is part of a broader strategy using technology and data analytics to ensure transparency and accurate reporting of foreign assets and income.
