The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in India oversees the Centrally Sponsored 'Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme' for Scheduled Caste students. This scheme, implemented through State Governments and Union Territory Administrations, operates on a demand-driven basis, requiring states to verify applications and contribute a 40% share (10% for North-Eastern states) before the central 60% share (90% for North-Eastern states) is released. Funds from the central share are directly deposited into the beneficiaries' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
