Central Government Announces New Export Levies on Petrol, Diesel, and Aviation Turbine Fuel

The Ministry of Finance has revised the export levies on petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for the fortnight starting June 1, 2026. The adjustments stem from a policy initiated on March 27, 2026, aimed at ensuring domestic petroleum supply amidst the West Asia crisis. The new levies are determined based on average international oil prices and impose a rate of Rs 1.5 per litre for petrol, Rs 13.5 per litre for diesel, and Rs 9.5 per litre for ATF. Domestic excise duties remain unchanged.
