Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved the release of Rs. 1,950.80 crore as the second installment of the Central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to Karnataka and Maharashtra. This funding aims to assist in providing immediate relief to those affected by heavy rainfall and floods during the southwest monsoon. The Central Government has committed significant resources to support states during natural disasters, with a total of Rs. 13,603.20 crore released to 27 states under SDRF this financial year.
