Centre Allocates ₹127 Crores to Tamil Nadu's Rural Local Bodies
The Union Government has allocated ₹127.586 crores to Rural Local Bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions in Tamil Nadu as the second instalment of untied grants for the financial year 2025-26. These funds are part of the XV Finance Commission's recommendations and will be utilized for specific local needs excluding salaries. The grants support sanitation, waste management, water supply, and recycling projects in 9 District Panchayats, 74 Block Panchayats, and 2,901 Gram Panchayats.
