Centre Allocates Rs. 1,536 Crores to Strengthen Rural Local Governance

The Government of India has disbursed Rs. 1,536.14 crores as part of the Fifteenth Finance Commission grants to support Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) across eight states, enhancing rural local governance. The grants, covering both tied and untied funds, target Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Uttarakhand, supporting local needs and basic services including sanitation and water supply.
