Centre Disburses ₹2,400 Crores in Grants to Rural Local Bodies

The Union Government has released the first installment of untied grants under the XV Finance Commission for the financial year 2025-26, amounting to over ₹2,400 crores, to Rural Local Bodies in Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. Bihar received ₹801.009 crores, Himachal Pradesh ₹67.955 crores, and Uttar Pradesh ₹1,548.3836 crores. These grants will be utilized for various local needs, excluding salaries, and can be used for sanitation, drinking water supply, and waste management.
