Centre Urges States to Enhance Urban Cleanliness

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has called for a swift cleanup of neglected urban areas under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0. A virtual meeting emphasized the importance of visible cleanliness and the transformation of Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs). With over 8 lakh CTUs already transformed, states are urged to identify and beautify difficult spots, focusing on solid waste management and citizen engagement through the Swachhata App. The initiative aims to restore public spaces and achieve a Garbage Free India within a year.
